After looking at the story of ‘The Gingerbread Man’ in English last week, Year 2 decided that they would like to make their own gingerbread biscuits. They read a few recipes, decided on one and then gathered all the ingredients they would need. The children took it in turns to read the steps, use the scales to measure out the ingredients and of course lots of mixing was needed. After setting in the fridge, the dough was ready to roll and cut. Mrs Platt was on baking duty and she had to ensure no gingerbread men escaped out of the window when the oven door was opened! After cooling, the children decorated the biscuits with plenty of icing, chocolate buttons and sweets. We hope they taste as good as they look.
