Year 1 counted down the sleeps until ‘Castle Day’ and there was huge excitement in the classroom on Friday morning! The children (and staff!) wore fantastic costumes to fit in with the theme of the day. Each child made their own castle, complete with an individual name, working drawbridge (the children worked out how to do this themselves), flag, character and unique stonework.
The children were extremely busy all morning and the end results were fantastic. In the afternoon they made motte and bailey castles in the woods – photos to follow next week.
Thank you to the parents for the fantastic costumes. It has been a wonderful day and the children are very proud of their castles.
