This week in Reception, we have been exploring the theme of ‘Journeys’ as part of Poetry Week. We started by reading Shirley Hughes’ beautiful poetry book ‘Out and About’, which inspired us to think about our own journeys. Armed with our wellies, we set off on a journey around the perimeter of the school. The children were amazed to see how the buildings and grounds looked from a different perspective. After our walk, we imagined other exciting journeys for our wellies and the children came up with some fantastic ideas – everything from snowy lands, to beach adventures, and even the depths of the rainforest. The children used some wonderful adjectives to describe their destinations and painted vibrant scenes to go along with their ideas. Well done Reception.
