This week we have had drama amongst the trees!
We have been talking about different life cycles in nature, the different stages each creature or plant goes through and why each stage is important.
The children were able to recall numerous examples; the egg to chicken, frogspawn to frog and the seed to apple tree we learnt about back in the autumn term. Next the drama!
They were put into small groups and asked to perform a life cycle of their choice. We had some very wobbly frogspawn, some wriggly caterpillars and crazy chickens! My favourite though, had to be the beautiful butterfly, floating gracefully through the trees!
The children are very familiar with the metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly as ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ has been a staple in most homes for many years!
