This week’s chef demonstration was a tasting of Greek shawarma. Shawarma is a meat dish cooked at a very high temperature on a rotating spit, and sliced into savoury thin strips of meat. Its name is derived from the Turkish ‘döner kebab’ and the meat is often stuffed inside flatbread along with hummus and tahini. Delicious!
There was also high excitement over the double banana reveal (see the video below!). According to experts around five percent of bananas can grow into ‘double fingers’ but most are discarded.
