It has been an exciting few days for the U11 girls hockey team who travelled overnight to Framlingham College for their IAPS regional competition. A team meal at Wagamama en route to the hotel tired them out and led to a brilliant night of sleep by nine shattered girls!
The following morning the excitement was back and we were ready for a day of hockey.
They played the following teams in the group stage:
Fairstead House: 2-0 win
Beeston Hall: 0-2 loss
Orwell Park: 1-0 win
Quarter Final: we got through to the cup but sadly faced a very strong side from Woodbridge who knocked us out by winning 2-0 (they went on the win the tournament).
The girls showed remarkable resilience and have been working on their response to losing in sport. The picture shows the girls conducting their three cheers for the opposition who sent us home and I am delighted to say they showed great sportsmanship and kept their true disappointment hidden until the bus journey home.
Well played girls. We will be back on a winning streak again soon!
