Year 1 have had an excellent working week. In maths problem solving, using die to find a total then doubling it to gain the answer, was a fun and lively way to warm up before getting into the gritty realms of vertical addition. Extension activities kept them on their toes as they wanted more, more, more!
Researching materials, both natural and manmade, led to exciting discussion and debate. “How can glass be made from sand?” “Milk comes from the shop doesn’t it?”
Kings and Queens miraculously appeared from a box of crafting resources, a task deftly achieved by talented hands.
What more can a teacher ask for than children excited and eager to learn! Such an exhilarating week for all, well done Year 1 on your achievements!
