From the Head

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your kind support across a very purposeful autumn term for the children. Those attending the Carol Service on Wednesday evening were treated to the Choir performing at a remarkably high level and supported by some great readers. The Pre-Prep Nativity was also a blast, with every ingredient needed for an adorable show. Those attending the Year 8 production of ‘Annie’ were treated to a whole heap of performing, singing and dancing,  joie de vivre and confidence.

For the children, we had some Christmas magic in the mix to help with a celebratory finish this week: a woodland Santa’s grotto for Pre-Prep; a visiting theatre company; two trips out to the Panto and the House Quiz, loud and proud, as I write.

We appreciate your patience mid-week. It appears a third party inadvertently severed our internet connections at the edge of the sports field. Thank you to key site and admin colleagues for getting that sorted, working late in the rain and darkness. We have now caught up with communications for smooth sailing toward the end of term. Please do see the rather delayed Portal messages for, amongst other things, my House Crest Art Competition (Year 3 and above), should the children need an afternoon to be occupied during the holiday.

2024 calls for action. We are moving to extending the pastoral benefits of our House system down to Pre-Prep. It’s also a good time for a welcome refreshment of our rewards and behaviour standards throughout the School. We also have some great platforms to build upon with our curriculum offer. We will keep you well informed of the road ahead.

My thanks to the staff for their inspiration this term.

I hope families enjoy the break and a very merry Christmas to all.

Mr John Towers
